Bio
History / Biography:

The beginning of Anko’s life could be called nothing but ordinary. She was an average, if not somewhat tomboyish girl with loving parents, plenty of friends, and everything a young girl could ever hope for. In every regard, life was good.

Unfortunately, Anko has since locked the memories of her childhood in the deepest recesses of her mind, a place so deep and dark, they likely will never be found again. In fact she has no memories prior to the age of twelve, the day her parents died.

It ended in a split second, with one… single… explosion, when on their way home from the grocery store, their car was derailed by an out of control tanker, pinned between metal and concrete when a flame broke. Anko was sitting on the couch, watching cartoons and simply waiting for her parents to return home when it had happened. The doorbell rang, perking the young girl from a cartoon induced stupor, and Anko headed to the door, opening it sharply. Much to her surprise, instead of her parents she was greeted by a pair of police, saying simply “we need you to identify your parents’ remains”.

Things became a bit more complicated after that. Distraught and angry, Anko began to push everyone away. Friends, neighbors… doctors. She, however, refused to cry, believing that to show a sign of weakness now, after something like this, was a sign of concession, admitting that everything she ever knew was gone. This remained a constant in Anko’s life for many years following the death of her parents. She refused to admit that she was scared and weak, even neglecting to go to her parents’ funeral, or take any part of her inheritance. So, three days later, when social services showed up at her door to take her away to her foster home, Anko wasn’t having any of it. And as the men, knowing she was home, pounded on the doors and windows furiously, Anko slipped out the fire window in the attic, climbed down the tree in the back yard and made for the highway, where she met up with a shady figure and disappeared, not to be seen again for four long years.

For those that know her, even those who know her well, there is a gaping hole in Anko’s history, a Dead Sea Scrolls time period of four years where she vanished off the face of the earth. Many presumed her dead, others only missing, but all from the same theory. She had simply disappeared. And when she returned from this absence, no longer a little girl, but a sixteen year old young woman, no one knew her. Those who long ago called her friend saw only a shell of the person they once knew, instead being met with an entirely different person. One with many secrets and a personality that defied all logic. She returned to school, making very few friends in her remaining years there, and graduated with above average grades, enrolling in a nearby college, majoring in education practices with a side hobby of sports, especially volleyball.

At twenty six years old, Anko had gotten her life back on track, and though still haunted occasionally by memories of the past, she considers the life she now leads as normal. Anyone with a psychological eye would say otherwise, but it is of little consequence to Anko. In fact, she’s glad she is a completely different person now. She manages to have much more fun these days, often throwing wild parties open to anyone of legal age to drink (or that won’t tell if they aren’t), and can often be found crashing or showing up to other people’s parties as well. Anyone who has ever been to her apartment, right outside of campus, knows that the only rule to one of Anko’s parties is that no one is to touch the terrarium in her bedroom, which holds her two pet ball pythons, other than that, everything is fair game. She is also know to have a weak spot for sweets, confections and other types of desert, something many of her friends find both interesting, and a bit funny, considering that both her given and family names are also types of dango, which is, coincidentally, one of her favorite types of treat. Some accuse Anko of being childish, using the wild partying and obsession with sweet things to relive the childhood that was stripped from her, but when met with these accusations, Anko only brushes them aside, never really being interested in their psychiatric mumbo jumbo.

Currently, Anko works as a teacher’s aide at the university, helping wherever she is needed, included, but not limited to the infirmary, teacher’s lounge, classrooms and especially the gym, where she acts as assistant coach for both the girls’ volleyball and boys’ wrestling teams. Once she has earned enough hours, Anko intends to stay, sliding into a full time teaching slot at the university.
